4-H horse killed by wolf pack at historic family ranch.

Editors note: This particular ranch is over saturated with wolves, and the new management scheme of letting them subsist off our livestock with zero management lets them get by and not migrate with the elk. Instead they kill everything else plus all the elk babies. There are too many in this area, the plan was to have a self sustaining wolf population in Az and NM and northern Mexico, instead allowing them to subsist off cattle and horses, and small family ranchers, they have artificially created a predator sink in certain spots. This is one of those spots. Then when the rancher has enough and kills one he is targeted and his grazing rights revoked. They are creating this deliberately. Its not about self sustaining wolf packs in the SW. in a natural setting.

24 hours after Taylor learned her horse was dead! Taylor is standing here with tears rolling down her face as she looks through the bag that contains Pickles tail hair, horseshoes, and the horseshoe nails! That’s all this little girl can do is cry!
We are prisoners to these damm wolves. My kids are worried to hear what the wolves will kill next. We have 7 wolves literally 400 yds from our house at the ranch. This horse was killed 400 yds from our doorstep!!! How in the hell is this right???
This mamas heart is breaking right now! All the tears that have been shed, and the threat these wolves do is TOTALLY WRONG!!!
Last I knew we live in AMERICA!!!

CONFIRMED WOLF DEPREDATION

Here’s some pictures of Taylor’s mare “PICKLES”. This little mare was only 6 years old. She died a horrible death. Her entire throat was hemorrhaged from multiple wolf bites. Her entire back legs were covered with bite marks. She was spree killed not eaten.
No animal should have to endure this. No parent should have to watch their kid start screaming as I choked up out of my mouth that her horse is dead and wolves killed it.

I am pissed off that liberal people can put natural born apex predators on our landscape right next to our homes and schools😡
We had just seen this mare 12 hours earlier in the evening and she was just fine. To watch your daughter scream and cry after hearing that her horse died was one of the toughest things as a mother I have had to endure. To anyone who thinks that we need wolves in and around our residences, and in our towns you are pathetic. For USFW to allow these wolves to free run not even a mile from our public schools??? This is wrong!!! Wolves aren’t the pretty little furry cartoons you think they are! They don’t belong in town and around our horses and livestock!!!

UofA wolf impacts Survey

The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and the Arizona Cattle Growers’ Association are conducting a survey to assess the economic impact of Mexican wolves on cattle ranching in Arizona and New Mexico. It targets ranchers in areas where wolves are present, aiming to understand both the direct effects on those impacted and the concerns of those who might be affected in the future. However, even if your ranch doesn’t have wolf presence, you’re still encouraged to participate in the survey. LETS HELP TO SUPPORT! SURVEY BELOW:

Wolves attack young hunters

I am turning off commenting as the moron meter is about to explode.

It is disgusting that I have to put this statement out there. My goal with this post is not to infuriate but to educate the public on a potential threat to their safety. It IS NOT a political statement. My statements are based on an extensive science background and experience in the outdoors over 330 days a year.

I witnessed an encounter with a pack of wolves where another hunter had to shoot a charging wolf to protect his young cousins. While duck hunting early Saturday morning with my sons, a single wolf snuck up behind us and wandered out on the exposed river bed. I think the wolves are struggling to find food after a mild winter. Wolves can’t prey on deer during the winter with little snow effectively. They have resorted to trying to catch ducks and geese feeding on the smartweed and grass growing on the exposed river bed. This may be why the following encounter occurred.

About the time we saw the wolf on the river bed, a group of young hunters was surrounded by wolves 300 yards east of us. 5 wolves surrounded the 19 year old and his 8 and 12 year old family members. One wolf was 10 feet behind their blind and the other was 15 feet down the shoreline. The pack was barking and growling at the young hunters despite the older hunter yelling at them. When the wolf on the shoreline lunged at them he shot it in the face. The wolf jumped around for awhile and put its face in the water. When it died , the other wolf grabbed it by the neck and tried to drag it away. The young man was still shaking 3 hours afterward when he told us the details.

I think this brazen behavior has been brought on by poor feeding conditions for the wolves. There are an unprecedented number of livestock and dog depredations this year and this has to be a contributing factor. I am pretty sure there are 4 overlapping packs in this area. I have attached a map of the area east of the Rainbow and north of Dam lake that has the aggressive pack or packs. Wolf sign is abundant here.

Yes, the young hunter contacted the DNR to report the incident. We hunted the area this morning and it appears that the dead wolf was dragged into the woods.

Our Main Website Photo is Indeed Photoshopped

We chose to photoshop an image of the reality of wolf attacks on livestock using real Mexican wolf photographs and substituting content livestock photos to make it appear to be a problematic situation. We chose to do this so our billboards would not traumatize young children when they travel on the highway and see them.

The image is indicative of a real immanent wolf attack that happens near daily in the Blue Range Wolf Recovery area where ranchers have run cattle and raised families since the mid 1800’s.

But please be warned, this website will contain the actual impacts of wolf reintroduction on ranchers and their livestock as well as the publics other wildlife. Please be aware that all other photographs displayed on this website area real and not photoshopped. Keep your children away from the website if you feel it is too much for them to handle.

Moms Ranch Too and there’s no daycare to protect our kids from Mexican Wolves.

But according to Western Watersheds NGO these are not wolf kills.

USFWS let this pack den between two ranch homes where children live.

Making short work of the calf crop and severely injuring the cattle if not killing them. Western Watersheds did an article on this mom, liable doesn’t even begin to describe that article. They are still harassing all ranchers with wolf depredation to the fullest extent of their ability.

Ted Turner rescued this pack and put them on the ladder ranch in 2021, subjecting all his neighbors to this pair and a full litter of pups that have never been captured and collared. In 2022, they ended up on a ranch in the black range in a den with a new litter, it was harder to kill cattle with the LGD’s but they still tried. the 2022 black fire kept the two ranchers dealing with them out of the burning pastures. This pack is gone now. Died natural deaths. Those six pups are still out there. unmanaged uncollared, unaccounted for.

This page will also feature the two horses this family have lost to Mexican wolves. under construction. 4-H horse killed by spree killed by wolf pack at historic family ranch. Western Watersheds is also claiming these are not wolf kills.
